Some Solo Stuff
"Torn" is a song I threw together in the middle of the night and quickly recorded on the laptop. It's about whether or not to pick up the phone and apologize or let pride ruin everything. "Unhappy" is about the withdrawal and lovesick pain I went through when I moved away from North Carolina. They both have a bluegrass sound which is kind of the direction I've been headed lately. The-New-Tattoos have plans to record both in the studio. (I left some space in the player and will be adding songs as I write them).

Didn't You Hear Us at the Wine Bar?
We chose the title Didn't You Hear Us at the Wine Bar? for our debut album just in case anyone was expecting anything different from what they've heard at the bar or the restaurant or the patio. It was a struggle, but it came out fairly unscathed by production madness (minus some reverb...because I'm addicted to it and need help). We did this because we wanted a raw sound and because we're always circling way too close to indigent. But we saved enough in tip money to hammer out a few hours in the studio, and I mean a few literally. The result is a romantic tale of humble beginnings...or a suggestive tale about our future. Whatever, here it is, our pseudo lo-fi, pseudo live album, Didn't You Hear Us at the Wine Bar?...it's all for you, and I'll swear by that until they bury me, guitar in hand, song in pocket.
